Christine D’Ercole has been away this past week. She’s not taught any classes. Rather she has competed in the USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships, and won a race!
I took her Max Capacity class “on Demand”, meaning the class was pre-recorded but has a “live” leaderboard. This was another class not geared to maximizing output or getting a personal best for a 45 minute ride. This one is geared to pushing to near exhaustion or maximum output for a brief period with a long recovery. Classes like this one show as “underperformance” on a graph of total output for 45 minute rides. They show well below a graph’s trend line. The idea being targeted stress will improve performance over time. This has been “proven” to work in race training. Even so, having a low performance day does not stoke the ego.
Low Overall Output, but Those Spikes!
Nearing the Checkered Flag (*Finally*)
Another 13 miles toward Santa Cruz. I’m “virtually” on Hwy 85 passing Saratoga.
